Update: The playground is now open

Original post:

The Eaton Bray playgrounds at School Lane and The Rye were recent inspected by the ROSPA examiner following the temporary closure during the COVID-19 requirements. The inspection was a requirement by law before they could be reopened.

Unfortunately, during that inspection, the assessor discovered that a lot of the equipment both at School Lane and The Rye was not fit to use as they were old and did not meet the new regulations.

With this in mind, Eaton Bray Parish Council have had to keep the playgrounds closed until the affected equipment can be safely removed.

Some pieces of equipment will remain as they passed the ROSPA inspection but it is the Council’s intention to replace the affected pieces with some new play equipment.

We will be undertaking some research to identify what the cost of the replacement equipment is and how soon it can be installed.

We will be prioritising The Rye playground for the removal of affected equipment given that it is open to access.

For now, please ensure that you and your children do not climb over the railings to use the play equipment on School Lane.
